Rwanda’s 2007 expropriation law has been a critical tool for development in the country since its adoption. Rwanda is developing at a high speed and improved use of land and natural resources in the tiny country will be a critical piece of the development puzzle.
Hadley Rose, working with the Legal Aid Forum in Rwanda, recently completed a large empirical research project on the implementation of the expropriation law and its outcomes on the population. The full report is available here.
The research was completed with the support of USAID/Rwanda LAND Project, and with technical assistance provided from Michigan State University.
